Oak Academy

Oak National Academy offers nearly 10000 free lessons and resources covering many subjects, from Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 11.

I developed 3 enquiries for the Oak National Academy:

  • What does the life of Mansa Musa reveal about medieval Mali?

  • Who lived in British America?

  • What do the stories of the ‘forgotten armies’ reveal about the Western Front?

Beyond Bangla Town

Beyond Banglatown analyses Brick Lane’s rapid gentrification over the last 15 years and the impact of its new economies on the UK curry capital, and the Bangladeshi community that has been excluded and displaced by this process of regeneration.

I worked with Martin Spafford to create accompanying teaching resources including ideas for using the Beyond Bangla Town website, lesson plans, and a Meanwhile, Elsewhere sheet.

Black Tudors

Black Tudors tells the stories of ten Africans. Miranda Kaufmann traces their tumultuous paths in the Tudor and Stuart eras, uncovering a rich array of detail about their daily lives and how they were treated.

I developed an enquiry that explores with students how Miranda Kaufmann uncovered the lives of 3 Black Tudors and have shared all of the lessons and resources.
